ONE BOOK, ONE SCHOOL "I Am Malala"

Anderson-Shiro JR/Sr High School is about to take part in a campus-wide shared reading event - ONE BOOK, ONE SCHOOL. Every student and faculty member will receive a copy of the same book –I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai with Patricia McCormick – and will be asked to read it together over the next three weeks. With this program, we aim to build a Community of Readers at our school. Everyone – students, teachers, even administrative staff – will all be following along together.  All students and faculty members will receive a copy of I Am Malala on Monday, January 31st.  Along with the book, they will receive a reading schedule - about 15 minutes of reading each night.  Students will be invited to answer daily trivia questions to encourage reading with daily prizes.  We hope your student enjoys the true story of Malala Yousafzai who stood up for Education and Changed the World. “When a whole school reads a book, there’s a lot to talk about.”  We do have a limited number of extra books if any parents / community members would like to read along with us!  Contact Mrs. Hesterman by email - [email protected]!
