Area FFA CDE Contest

This past Saturday, Anderson-Shiro FFA took 6 teams, consisting of 23 kids, to the Area FFA CDE Contest at Texas A & M University. We had two teams qualify for state! The Homesite team placed 2nd out of 16 teams. McKenna Holloway was the 4th high point individual out of 55 contestants. This team advanced to the State contest which will take place on April 26th at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Tx. The Homesite team consists of (l to r): Daylen Wagner, Mason Soltow, McKenna Holloway, McKenna Pavelock. The Horse judging team, also advancing, placed 5th overall out of 69 teams. Zane Moriarty was the 4th high individual out of 229 contestants! The horse team, consisting of (l to r: Taylor Cooper, Zane Moriarty, Maryn Lara, Brice Beene) will head to Texas Tech University in Lubbock, on April 21st to compete for the State title! We are very excited about the success of these teams who have put in many long hours and early morning to prepare for this moment. Please wish both teams the best of luck and safe travels.

District Tennis Tournament

The Anderson-Shiro Tennis Team had a good showing in the District tournament yesterday! Emily Deason and Emily Hoffart won their third consecutive District championship in girls doubles. Kara Keally and Ellison Blair also did well securing 3rd place. In girls singles, Valerie Servando took second place and Emily Daigle third place. The duo of Tyler Phelps and Mason Soltow took 4th Place in boy doubles. Kaitlyn van Tassel won 1st place in JV girl singles. The varsity girls won the district championship a team. Congratulations to all!
