Hi everyone.  

I'm so excited starting a new year and seeing everyone again.  This is my 24th year teaching in multiple disciplines including 6th - 12th Language Arts/English, Creative Writing, Yearbook, and business classes. Outside of the classroom, I've served as a CollegeBoard Counselor, NHS Advisor, and librarian.

 

Before teaching I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Business Management and Public Relations.  I then worked in the Human Resources & Training/Development departments within the hospital industry.  I loved the training element but wanted more family time - so teaching, here I come.

 

My son Hunter is a senior Texas A&M and will be graduating this December.  His passion is for clay/skeet shooting, in which I became very involved in by following him all over Texas.  I love gardening, being out on the water, camping, spending time in West Texas, and of course, reading when I have time.

 

English 1 is about 50% writing (including grammar & vocabulary) and 50% literature.  

English 3 is about 75% writing.  We also complete a Career unit with various activities including Collegeboard, researching careers, and writing for the future.

Yearbook's focus is on taking pictures at school events, learning how to use the camera functions, editing/cropping pictures, and publishing them in the school yearbook.
