How will students be graded?

9 Weeks Breakdown

Major Grades: 60% 

  • tests, projects, presentations, etc.

Minor Grades: 40%

  • Quizzes, assignments, discussions, etc.

Grade Scale:

A = 90 - 100

B = 80 - 89

C = 70 - 79

F = Below 70 (Failing)

 

Make Up Work for Absences

A student will be permitted to make up tests and to turn in projects due in any class missed

because of an absence. A student shall be allowed no less than the number of days absent plus

one day to complete the assignment. A student will be responsible for obtaining and completing the makeup work in a satisfactory manner and within the time specified by the teacher and guidelines. A student who does not make up assigned work within the time allotted by the teacher will receive a grade of zero for the assignment.

Retests

If a student is to earn a failing grade on an assignment or test grade, the student will be given a chance to retest for a passing grade. Re-assessment is optional strictly on the request of the student. The student must attend at least one tutorial before attempting to retest. The retest must take place within 5 days of the student receiving the failing grade back, and the highest grade to replace the failing grade is a 70. Re-assessment grades may sometimes consist of test corrections.
