Grading Policy

Grading Policy

The main focus is for the student to be proactive in his/her grades and to always ask if there is a question/clarification.  If it is not turned in then a zero will be placed in the Gradebook until it is turned in.

Copying/cheating on any work will result in a zero.  Sharing information, unless indicated as partner/group work is plagiarism.

Late Work Policy:

                        1 day late = 10 points

                        2 days late = 20 points

                        3 days late = 30 points

5 days late = 50 points – This late work does not fall under the “Reassessment” opportunity

            Minor grades = 40%                    Major grades  =  60%

Some examples of Eng. 1 & 3 grades include:  quick writes, journal writing, vocabulary, process writing, novel unit grades, major writing assignments, and a possible test or two.  Additional Eng. 3 includes American literature, resume writing, and Career Unit.

  • - Attending so many school events – 3 hours
  • - Taking a certain minimum number of pictures at events - 500
  • - Classwork
  • - Staying attune to due dates
